Okay so i am going to Pine Cove this week so i'll try to write
about it every single day i can. So let me get to the point here
pine cove is a fun camp but it also God is with us so ya know
we learn about camp. So my camp counselor [ Tree pull axle ]
we get 1 on 1 time with our counselor!! Of course i can talk about
me that is the point, but when you set a lifes goal your bound to
achieve it. Well my goal used to be to be spiritual but today i
changed that.!.My counselor said '' You should be Gods friend
make a relationship with him then there i will be spiritual!!!
Moving on my counselor said that there was this room people
would go in along time ago you would have to clean yourself
head to toe and the people pick the very best preacher and you
go in there and that is were you prayed and spoke with God.
[ you speak to God by praying but oh well. ]well there was this
curtain well it ripped so you prayed every where else since.
There was some more but i forget a little but i do want to
find relationship with God and by writing this it is growing.

Hi Emeline,
I hope you're having fun at camp. The curtain your counselor was talking about was probably the curtain in the Jewish temple. Only the high priests could pass through, only once a year, and they thought that inside the veil one was in the presence of God (hence the cleaning) and the priest offered Him sacrifices for the sins of the people. There was also an outer curtain between the temple courtyard (where Jesus got pissed and threw out the money changers) and the temple itself. Only Jews were allowed into the temple, Gentiles could not pass the first curtain, and most Jews could not pass the second curtain (only the high priest, only once per year). One of these curtains was torn at the exact moment that Jesus died on the cross, but which is unspecified. The theological implications of the torn curtain are also somewhat contested, and Jews did indeed pray to God outside the inner curtain prior to its tearing, but it's fun to think about.
I'm glad you're learning about God in camp, and you can read the crucifixion story in your bible (there are 4 of them!). I love you,
Daddy
thanks dad
